Schticky Partners?

According to a graphic in a link that Dr. Crawford provided for us, Partners, or CBS rather, spends $161,675 for 30 seconds of commercials. Also, Partners is trying to entice viewers with interesting episode names such as "It gets hot, sexy and a little "tingly" on PARTNERS!" However, the show is still failing and not doing as well as expected.

I'm just glad the show hasn't been cancelled yet...Partners is getting criticized pretty harshly though. One article written for the Huffington Post was titled
"'Guys With Kids' Review, Plus 'Partners' And 'Neighbors': Fall TV's Three Least Promising Comedies." The article made me laugh with the line "This appears to be the re-animated corpse of a tired, schticky comedy pilot from 1996"...I'm not too sure what schticky means but apparently it isn't a good thing. The article continues to criticize lines used in the show; a Clay Aiken joke was a bad idea. It's sad to see that some shows on CBS have so much success and others, like Partners, become a flop. I guess that is part of the risk you take with new shows! We shall see how much longer it will last...

Sink or Swim?

I just read some pretty sad news. According to tvseriesfinale.com, Partners has bit the dust and it’s “fate is sealed.” The second episode dropped 13% to a 2.1 rating with 5.71 million viewers. CBS is trying this new sitcom out which is created by the same people who made Will & Grace, but there seems to be a negative trend. Tvseriesfinale.com stated, “CBS has cancelled numerous sitcoms despite their having decent ratings,” which makes me nervous for Partners’ success. (To read the full article, visit: http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/partners-season-one-ratings-24554/

When looking at shows that air before and after Partners, Partners comes in last place. Lead-in How I Met Your Mother earned a 3.4 rating and its lead-out, 2 Broke Girls, received a 3.7 rating. Disappointingly, it seems as if audiences are tuning out, rather than in, during Partners. I guess the idea of hammocking didn't work in this case!

Variety.com also mentions how Partners’ timeslot is affecting the show. “Partners' timeslot hammock -- while initially an asset -- leaves the show vulnerable if it looks like it's in any way becoming a drag on Girls,” stated variety.com (To read the full article, visit: http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117948373?refCatId=32)

Interestingly enough, the network was much lower when comparing this sitcom to the How I Met Your Mother episode that aired in the same timeslot last year. Boo! What an outrage!
