Partners on CBS! Personally, I think this show is going to be a hit... This show starts on Monday, September 24th @ 8:30 so mark your calendars!
The creators are: David Kohan and Max Mutchnick (writing credit), though I have never heard of them. Apparently, they also created Will and Grace.
James Burrows is the director....eh, still wish I thought I had Jimmy Fallon EP of Guys With Kids!!!
In summary, two grown male best friends, that have been friends since childhood, live and work together as business partners in architecture. One is straight; one is gay (way to incorporate a modern twist in there!) The great aspect of this show is that the men both know each other very well since they have been friends for so long. They are comfortable with each other and constantly crack sarcastic jokes. I found the show funny and very relate-able because we all have that best friend we keep an eye out for. In a way, the show reminds me of Two and a Half Men...
In a way, this show might be seen as an "underdog" because no big names are in it. (besides Sophia Bush)
I'm gonna link this to IMDB so you can see the cast list since copy-pasting the list is giving me problems! Cast list.
IMDB had a rating for this show at 4.9/10 from 46 users.

I am very excited to see this show and think it is going to do great! What do you think?
Sorry again, Rose, that you didn't actually have Guys With Kids, but this show doesn't seem that bad. The simple title gives it a bit of mystery as to why it's called Partners. But conveniently, they're best friends, and one would be gay, seems typical, but is a twist. I don't know, I might be too hard on all these shows, but I just hope it doesn't get dry and boring, because I'm wishing the same for my show. Also, the fact that the two main actors come from way different television backgrounds, seems for an interesting series, yet it's risky. I'm not sure if it's going to be funny or cliche. Like I said, I'm comparing the fears I have as well with my own show.
ReplyDeleteDavid Krumholtz is a fairly well-known actor who's pretty good at what he does too, but i do agree however that there really isn't any big names. with that being said, anything CBS touches usually turns to gold, and the fact that they sandwiched it in between 2 really successful shows on a Monday night, how i met your mother and two broke girls, means that CBS must really believe in this new show. plus, who doesn't love a good "bro-mance."?
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I hope so Eric. I wish the best for Partners. Thanks for your comments Lesley and Eric!
DeleteI'll be keeping an eye out on this show. It'll be interesting to watch their "bro-mance" seeing how one of them is gay. Also, I wonder how much of their friendship will effect them and their business. Seems like it'll be a pretty funny show, can't wait to check it out as well as see how it does with the ratings and all.
ReplyDeleteI think this show looks pretty funny. Not the type of "bro-mance" i've seen before thats forsure..but I'm willing to give it a shot as long as theres no dudes kissing haha.
ReplyDeleteBro-mance can really be a funny thing... I'm almost confused as to how CBS can get over 5 million views and even begin to consider closing up shop... thats still a lot of revenue from advertisers... The more I learn about TV and CBS in particular, the more realistic their greed becomes. its a shame...
ReplyDeletePartners definitely seems to have a certain bromance for sure, yet it definitely seems natural the way the two interact. I watched it and it reminds me of my best friend and I, and he happens to be gay, it kind of adds a twist to the show, since both friends are male, one straight, one gay because they both lead different lives, yet are best friends. The title kind of throws it off because you think they're a couple, but based on the plot line the title does fit. I wouldn't give up right away on this show, it could have some good content, even though there are no prominent stars, it could still go in a successful direction.
